Le grand jour...

Welcome!

This launch day is very special to me.

Atelier Moondust is an idea that is close to my heart and that I have been thinking about for years. That of mixing my lifelong passions for creation, craftsmanship with my constant desire to share, transmit.

I caught the sewing bug watching my grandmother sew her clothes patiently and meticulously. I only started sewing intensively when my daughter was born 15 years ago when we were living in Kenya.

Since then, I have taken several courses, perfected my skills and my passion for sewing has only grown; while remaining a hobby.

I had wanted to get started and create my workshop for a long time but it was not yet the time, the project was still on hold. Speech therapist (speech therapist) by training, I worked in the voluntary sector until 2014, as a trainer, project manager then director of an association; gradually acquiring skills that allowed my project to take shape. My 3-year expatriation in the United States and my time at Finch Sewing Studio allowed me to finalize it.

Atelier Moondust is installed on the first floor of a Brussels house. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. This house is a first step and we will move in a few months to a more accessible store.

I chose to offer in the shop all the fabrics that I discovered and sewed in Washington: Cotton + Steel, Art Gallery, Robert Kauffman, ... as well as the patterns of my favorite designers: Grainline Studio and Closet Case Patterns (more coming soon!).

The workshops are designed so that they can easily be reconciled with an already full, if not overflowing, agenda. The objective is that at the end of each work session, you leave with something acquired, not to embark on a year-long training course!

I wish you a good visit and hope to see you very soon at Atelier Moondust,

Isabella

PS: A few thanks:

Atelier Moondust would not have been possible without the unconditional support and daily help provided by Guy, Emma, Laura, Calinou and Papy: you are my guardian angels!

This project would not be what it is without the advice and extreme generosity of Nicole and the invaluable help of Laurent (and his pen), Michael (and his unknown talent for drilling and dismantling doors), Elise ( for her embroidery skills and her contagious energy), Margot (for her innate talent and her angelic face), Florence (for her support and her patience) and Pierre (for DIY advice at all hours).
