Catania is Schachenmayr’s well-known yarn, made from 100% mercerised cotton. This high-quality yarn is soft to the touch and with a gorgeous sheen. Inherently lightweight and breathable, this yarn is ideal for knitting and crocheting clothing items and accessories, but is also perfect for creating toys and amigurumi for infants and children. Catania is certified in accordance with the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label, meaning that the product is free from harmful substances and is safe for human use (also for infants). Further, the solid shades (item no. 9801210) are certified with the EN 71-3 label, which guarantees that the product is safe to use to create children’s toys. Washable up to 40°C and available in several colours. Recommended needle size: 2.50-3.50mm.
The Catania Amigurumi Boxes are ideal for making amigurumi or other items that require a lot of colours in small quantities, such as granny squares or Fair-Isle knitting (for example, Norwegian motifs). A great addition to your own yarn collection, but also nice to give as a gift! Available in 4 different themes, with either 25 or 50 mini balls of Catania yarn. Each mini yarn ball weighs 20 grams.
